Gas Powered Suction Stop Valve- S9A-S9W

The S9A and S9W valves are designed to promptly and fully open or close under conditions which make conventional solenoid valves unreliable or unsuitable. The S9 requires no minimum pressure drop to open which makes it ideal for certain applications

The S9A and S9W are heavy-duty gas powered valves suitable for ammonia and other refrigerants, certain oils and other fluids approved for use in refrigeration. They are pilot operated semi-steel bodied valves. The valves may be opened by means of the manual opening stem for servicing or in case of electrical power failure. The Type S9A and S9W are pilot operated valves but uses an external source of higher pressure gas to operate the valve, and, therefore requires no minimum pressure drop to open. The external gas pressure for the Type S9A must be at least 0.69 bar (10 psi), and 0.71 bar (10 psi) for the S9W, above valve internal upstream pressure for positive opening. This valve is normally closed. They are two-position valves using condenser gas pressure acting upon a piston for opening, and a strong spring for closing. A lapped seat at the top of the piston prevents the condenser gas from leaking around the piston to the compressor suction side of the valve. A twin Pilot Solenoid Valve assembly serves to admit condenser gas pressure to the piston for opening and to bleed this gas pressure to the suction line for valve closing. A single-pole, double throw thermostat or relay may be used to control these two Pilot Solenoid Valves.

Gas Powered Suction Stop Valve- CK-6D

The CK-6D is a suction stop valve for hot gas defrost applications. This normally open valve features dual solenoids for equalization and a pressure regulator to prevent the valve from opening during defrost in the event of a power loss.

The CK-6D operation is based upon the same principle as the R/S CK-5 gas powered stop valve, with the added feature of an internal vent function, allowing for equalizing after defrost through one valve. This heavy duty gas-powered valve is suitable for ammonia and other refrigerants, certain oils and other fluids approved for use in refrigeration. The CK-6D is a pilot operated, dual-position valve. This valve is equipped with a manual opening stem and A2D pressure pilot. The CK-6D is a normally open valve during refrigeration, with both pilot solenoids de-energized. This valve’s position will remain unchanged during refrigeration (opened) should power be interrupted to the pilot solenoids during this mode. During defrost, both solenoids are energized which will close the main valve. Should a power failure occur while an evaporator is in defrost, the valve is designed to re-position itself to its internal vent mode. This will slowly bleed the coil pressure down to the suction line pressure. This eliminates the prospect of a “suction shock” condition in the event of a power failure. The Type CK-6D Gas-Powered Valve is furnished with FPT Internal NPT (U.S. Standard Taper Pipe Thread), Socket Weld, Weld Neck or ODS (solders over copper tubing of given diameter) connections. The valve may be easily removed from between the flanges to make servicing a breeze.

Gas Powered Suction Stop Valve- CK-5

The CK-5 gas-powered suction stop valve provides the normal operating features of the R/S CK-2 suction stop valve and features a built-in failsafe to close the valve until pressure is equalized in the event of a power loss.

These valves are piston-type, gas powered, and normally open. They are heavy duty, semi-steel bodied valves that are built with control precision. The 32mm (1-1/4”) port size has a PTFE main seat, the 40mm (1-5/8”) port and larger have a metal to metal seat, the 100mm and 125mm (5” and 6”) port size versions of this unique suction stop valve utilize a larger capacity, remotely piped pilot operated solenoid, the R/S type S8F. In addition, the pilot regulator for these two larger sized valves is mounted on top of valve, with the strainer disc assembly piped into the side of the adapter.

The CK-2D valves are employed as a low pressure drop, gas-powered suction stop valve for low temperature evaporators. These valves are used for suction stop and evaporator equalization following a defrost cycle.

The CK-2D is based on the same valve body and operational principles as the standard CK-2 valves making for easy field replacements. This heavy duty gas-powered valve is suitable for ammonia and other refrigerants, certain oils and other fluids approved for use in refrigeration. The CK-2D is a pilot operated, dual-position valve. The CK-2D is a normally open valve and will open on power failure. This valve is equipped with a manual opening stem. These CK-2 Gas Powered Suction Stop Valves are used on low temperature applications to positively close suction lines and both liquid legs and gas returns on flooded evaporators.

These piston type, gas pressure powered, normally open, heavy duty, cast iron bodied valves are built with control valve precision. All are equipped with flanges and manual lift stem. The 32mm (11/4″) port size has a PTFE main seat; 40mm (1-5/8”) port and larger have a metal to metal seat. The CK-2 utilizes a spring to open and therefore requires no pressure drop to open. On suction line applications pressure drop is nominal; on flooded evaporators normal gravity circulation is unrestricted. Being pressure powered to close this valve can overcome sticking at low temperatures caused by the presence of viscous oil.

Check Valve CK-4

The Type CK4A Check Valves prevent backward flow of fluid in refrigerant suction, hot gas or liquid lines.

Parker’s CK4 check valves are designed to be close coupled to a control valve which will reduce overall installation length, complexity, and cost. These valves are designed to prevent backflow in a variety of refrigeration applications and can be mounted on a valve or as a standalone component. The CK4 can be mounted in any orientation when used as a standalone part of the refrigeration system. These compact valves are spring closing with a lapped, stainless steel or chrome plated seat for positive closing action and low leakage. A minimum pressure difference of 0.05 bar (0.75 psi) is required to hold the valve in the open position. Removable seat plate with combination O-ring and metal to metal knife edge seal allows the valve to be disassembled for maintenance. They may be ordered with male adapter rings for close-coupling to other Refrigerating Specialties valves.

CK-3

The CK-3 check valve prevents backward flow of high pressure refrigerant gases and liquid.

Parker’s CK-3 is a compact and lightweight check valve that features a threaded process connection that simplifies connections and reduces installation costs. The spring-loaded check valve requires a minimum 0.34 bar (5 psi) pressure drop to overcome the spring force and lift the valve seat, allowing the check valve to be mounted in any position. The valve opens wide for flow in the arrow direction on the body of the valve. When flow reversal occurs the CK-3 valve closes quickly and reliably.

The Type CK1 Check Valves prevent backward flow of fluid in refrigerant suction, hot gas or liquid lines.

Parker’s CK1 check valves provide safe and effective backflow prevention for a variety of refrigeration applications. The gravity closing feature makes these valves ideal for systems that use a VFD or compressor unloading feature to reduce capacity as they can tolerate load fluctuations better than alternative check valve technologies. All CK1 check valves are flanged and have a manual opening stem for manual operation. The 20-32 mm (3/4 – 1-1/4”) port size valves have a PTFE seat; larger valves have a metal to metal seat. A minimum pressure difference of .03 bar (0.5 psi) is required to open the valve.

The spring return “deadman” handle 76-500 and 89-500 series valves are handles that have a water, oil and gas (WOG) rating of 2000 psig. These valves are available in ½”, ¾” and 1” NPT female end connections. The valves also have an internal mounting pad to secure the Deadman Handle directly, without the need for complex, expensive and unreliable brackets.

The two piece, inline 76-500 series ball valve is constructed of 316 stainless steel, where the 89-500 series is constructed of carbon steel. Both valves are manufactured using the investment casting process.
